Tim Profile

Dr Tim Williams

Dr Tim Williams studied medicine at the University of Sheffield and qualified as a GP in 2000. His interest in supporting people with persistent pain, has seen him develop a coaching mindset and approach, which has influenced his whole clinical and professional practice.

Tim trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), achieving a Master Practitioner standard in 2008 before going on to train as a Life Coach.  He has undertaken more in-depth training and supervision to become a Time to Think Coach, Coach Supervisor and Transforming Meetings Facilitator, which inform the training he offers.  In recognition of his capability and contribution, Tim has been accredited at the highest (Fellow) level with the International Authority for Professional Coaching and Mentoring (IAPC&M).  His Supervision has been enhanced by the completion of the ICCS diploma in 2022, which is doubly accredited with both the EMCC and ICF.  As well as his coaching, he now also provides supervision for other Yorkshire and Humber Post Graduate Deanery Coaches.

Tim is also a director of Peak Health Coaching which provides education and training in Tailored Health Coaching and Patient Activation as well as system re-design with the NHS.

His Health Coaching book, ‘Don’t ‘Just’ STOPIT.DOIT’, was written as an enabler for other healthcare professionals and the public to learn skills to coach themselves and others and informs some of the courses he provides.

Tim has supported and trained numerous health and social care professionals in communication skills and a coaching approach.  This aims to encourage people to think for themselves about their own health and well-being and create a more sustainable NHS for everyone.
